Installing a split system air conditioner is more than a simple appliance install - it is an addition to your home’s electrical infrastructure. Long-term reliability, energy efficiency, and home safety depend entirely on proper circuit design, switchboard capacity, and cable protection.

• Dedicated Circuits & Load Evaluation: While smaller 2.5kW units can often safely connect to an existing, safety-switch-protected power circuit, higher-capacity split systems (typically 3.5kW and above) require dedicated electrical circuits. Where required, we install new circuits protected by modern RCBOs (Residual Current Breakers with Overcurrent protection) directly from your switchboard to prevent circuit overloading and eliminate nuisance tripping. 

• Switchboard Capacity & Safety Audits: Older properties across the Sunshine Coast frequently feature outdated switchboards or insufficient space. Prior to installing your system, we audit your switchboard to ensure sufficient capacity and safety. If an upgrade is required, we modernise your switchboard to meet current Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000) before commissioning.

• Cable Sizing & Corrosion Protection: Voltage drop over long cable runs causes compressors to run hot and fail prematurely. We calculate exact wire gauge based on the distance between your switchboard, indoor head unit, and outdoor condenser. All exterior wiring is enclosed in UV-stabilised, heavy-duty conduit to withstand intense coastal heat and salt degradation.
